Corporate Gift Giving: Be Appropriate and Choose Carefully
I wonder if anyone else has thought to give a Professional 300 Piece Poker Set with Case to their clients…I’m quite in a bind because we don’t know if this is appropriate for gifting to business contacts. Although, I have to say, that a few Christmases ago, we did get something like this from a client we were working for. Only, their business is in line with this kind of gift as they run a casino.
If you have to receive something like this from a telephone company, for example, would you be very surprised? Would you be offended?
Gifting in the business setting has to be given a lot of considerations because it may make or break your business. You have to be careful that you don’t give out the wrong signal and lose your business partner’s confidence in you.
Gift with appropriateness. You cannot just give them anything, which is why as you will see most corporate gifts appear very generic because these items are safe and not controversial.
But while generic, you must also give the gifts some thought. They must be items that are made well or can be useful to your clients and business partners.
Decide and choose the gift carefully!
